I love a Dutch door. They’re perfect for letting some of the outside in, without leaving the door wide open. This is a great option for dog owners and some for cats too, although not mine – he’s a jumper.
You don’t see them very often... My sister had a Dutch door in her kitchen years ago. I loved the open airy feel it gave to the room. It also had a neighborly feel, where you could casually drop by and say hello. Since then, I’ve wanted one.
Every now and then you come across vintage doors with a variation on this style. These typically have ironwork in front with a panel behind that opens in. Open to chat or to let some fresh air in. I love these too.
Either option in my book is super cool…literally.
