Panel Panel on the Wall…

Panel molding is a great way to add character anywhere. And there’s no one way to go… You can have panels alone, chair rail or none, upper and lower panels or just lower. You can also vary the panels a little depending on the shape, width, and whether they look uniform or different.

How you paint it is another decision point…. Do you paint the molding the same color as the wall or a contrasting color? Both work well, but sometimes considering the functionality of your choice is the deciding factor.

Here’s the perfect example. Chair rail with panels below is something I do again and again for an entry hall or hall. I just taped out a large entry for a client of mine recently, and we decided to paint it for survival - semi-gloss white below the chair rail and a matt gray above. The reason? Two young boys. It looks great plus it will be easy to keep clean or touch up. A win – win for sure.

And let’s not forget paper… You can always use the panels to frame beautiful wallpaper. I Love that too…

Panel, panel on the wall who’s the fairest of them all?????? Your guess is as good as mine...
