I started the week on the subject of mix and matching, so why stop now?
It does not get better than this - La Terraza del Casino, a restaurant designed by Jamie Hayon in Madrid, absolutely has it all...

This room is the perfect example of mixing it up right. I love how he tied chairs of different styles together by using the same fabric and bright white finish. Surely they belong together. Although these chairs are new, I do this all the time with flea market finds, and it never fails.
I love this room in general as the color palate is so peaceful. It also has another one of my favorite elements - lots of reflection. Here the mirrors are placed in a diagonal, versus the traditional rectangle or square, certainly more unexpected and well positioned with a diamond patterned floor. Honestly I would have never thought of using black and white. This sharp contrast to the pastel mood of the room is what really takes this room to the next level. Something to remember...

BTW you also cannot miss the amazing architectural elements. The arched french doors and the regency pair are to die for, and the columns - one of a kind. I'm smitten...
A great room is the sum of its parts – all together I would LOVE to be here...

I love the idea of the different chairs in the same fabric and paint color, it works and keeps the room from looking stuffy or boring. What a place to visit some day.
In my laundry room I put in a black and white checkerboard floor with a white denim slip cover sofa from Ikea and just on a whim I painted a Target rug my favorite blue-gray color and I think it turned out great.
Sounds like a great combination. Looks like the B/W floor can work wonders in lots of rooms! I did a post on the Trianon Palace a while back and they had one too - a little different design and again I loved it... Check it out.

I love the look of various chairs in a room when pulled together by same color upholstery and wood. Gorgeous images!
What a comfortable look. It makes me feel calm by just looking at the pictures. I love it.
Stunning room! The black and white was unexpected but turned out beautiful. Love the diagonal mirrors as well.
