A Week of Silence...

An unexpected event changed everything this weekend - my Dad is gone…

I’ve always felt great having him in my corner cheering me on - from my earliest days on swim team, through high school tennis, and today through every renovation and decorating project. I didn’t get my love of design from him, but I did this – work hard at whatever you do and practice, practice, practice to be the best you can be.

Dad Loved horses. Whenever I see one I smile and think of him... I was a big disappointment there,as I got bucked off time and again, but he never wanted me to give up. Eventually we both did.

On one of our last trips together we went to Charleston and Savannah. He planned the trip as he knew I would absolutely Love it there. I did. He went on every house tour we could find. Not many guys or Dads would do that. That’s Love…

I always wanted him to be proud of me, and he would call frequently just to tell me so. I will miss his weekly advice and love. Dad thanks for everything. I will never forget you and only wish I had the chance to say goodbye.

This week of silence is in honor of you…

Kelly I am so sorry for the loss of your father. Everything you said about him makes him sound like the most fabulous father a girl could ever hope for. I am certain your wonderful memories of your darling father will get you through these horrible times.
With prayers and a big hug to you, MB

My condolences to you Kelly. This blog world is so strange-I have never met you, yet I feel I know a tiny bit about you from reading your blog. Hearing that someone I "know" has lost a parent is hard. I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my father when I was 13 and I know there is never a good time to lose a great father. He sounds like a wonderful man.

I am so sorry for you loss. My dad suddenly passed away 19 months ago, so I understand what you are going though. There is nothing to say to make you feel better, but I can promise you, one day sooner than you think, the sharp pain and grief will dull and your memories will provide comfort.
