The Not So Real Deal…




This playful hotel in Paris takes traditional architecture modern. It had me at first glance…

The attention to detail here is astounding, but set against a colorless background it’s simplified. How can you not be amused by this creative approach to making serious architecture appear much less so? But don’t be fooled - not everything here is faux. This hotel is a mix of “real deal” Parisian architecture as well as the ultra, ultra modern.

Captivating without question, nothing in this space is expected. For instance, look how the designer continued the architectural pattern on to the sheer curtain over the window - subtle but fantastic…

It reminds me of an exhibition I went to at the Neue Galerie on East 86th Street. An artist had drawn elaborate moldings on the walls in charcoal. I don’t remember the exhibition at all, but the background was truly Amazing, and memorable...

Those curtains are amazing, I had to look hard to see what you meant-such a subtle detail.I would love a few nights at this hotel!
