Double Take…
I did a double take when I got my latest Homes & Gardens… After all it was late when I sat down to have a first look. This geometric got my attention, but not nearly as much as the maker – Laura Ashley. This is not the Laura Ashley I remember from wayyyy back when. Could this be right - has LA gone contemporary? Well apparently so…
I LOVE how they used restraint in this room, introducing a bold modern print in a traditional space in small doses. It’s perfect…
We used to have a Laura Ashley on the Upper West, just down the street from me, but it’s now gone, along with my very first custom made duvet cover - a LA mini-print in white, lavender, and green. I loved that pattern, and years later here I am again. WELL it may be time for a second look, although I couldn’t access anything wallpaper related on their website, so I guess we'll have to wait.
PS: I’m also drawn to the architecture in this room, I can’t lie – the paneled arch niches are amazing and the mantle is a personal favorite. It’s the very same one I have. Mine was salvaged from the Plaza Hotel here in NYC, so I wonder where this one is?

Wow, so pretty! I can't take my eyes off of the art niches. The whole room is really fresh and stunning. And LA, what a nice change.
