I recently had my windows cleaned before the house tour. They needed it soooo bad!
My last cleaning was a vast improvement, but still not what I’d hoped for - they didn’t have the clarity I wanted and looked almost dusty. Well no wonder, they had not been cleaned in over 30 years. The last time, my window guy suggested booking an acid wash treatment, and if that didn’t work, replacing the glass.
We tried the acid on one pane as a test and it looked AMAZING so we went all out. What a difference…. It looks like someone took the glass out, it’s so clear. I loved my windows before, but now I can’t stop looking at them. They’ve never looked like this as long as I’ve lived here. The best way to describe the feeling is this - it’s like putting in a new pair of contacts after not wearing any for a few days – everything is crystal clear and bright. I’m on cloud 9.
There is still a little work to do. Two of the panes have condensation between the glass, so new glass is needed. That appointment is already on the books, so very soon all my windows will look like new. Someday I want brand new windows, the tilt in kind that makes cleaning easy. Until then, mine require a professional and some serious nail biting if you dare to watch.
How about these windows for inspiration? Beautiful... Some people get addicted to teeth whitening or lash extensions. I think I may become addicted to clean windows!
