It's Labor Day weekend and instead of heading out, I'm taking a staycation - staying put, staying here. It's time to get it together and get organized as much as I can for where I am in this renovation.
After all I have a party to plan...
We will be celebrating here one week from today - a birthday and an engagement for my friend Gabrielle. I can tell you the place is surely not ready, but she's like a sister to me, so I want to have a party for her.
There's no way to make it a typical Kelly party. After all my apartment is not fully renovated, and it's completely undecorated. Uh oh. It's gonna be a bare bones party atmosphere, BUT that's OK. My plan is to distract everyone with lots of balloons and flowers. Oh and bottles of champagne...
Balloons are my absolute favorite way to make any place festive, so they are a given. I also unpacked enough serving pieces and dishes to pretty things up. My flatware is still MIA so the plan is to borrow some. Another great distraction? A trip upstairs to the roof deck - the view is amazing and the perfect place for drinks outside. That's my plan...
So this weekend I have some cleaning to do, but not too much that I miss my hurricane staycation...
You are a wonderful friend to have a party without your place being finished! I love the staycation term too. Have a fun weekend!
