Now You See It - Now You Don’t…

I think this little kitchen is so smart. Inset and hidden behind panels, it completely disappears by closing a few doors. I love this... Instantly you can go from eat-in kitchen to clean lined dining room.

Why fear an open kitchen when you could have this, and who needs an extra room for dining?

The level of detail on the cabinetry simulates panel molding, which I think is the real trick behind it blending seamlessly into its surroundings. Like an animal in the wild, this concept is no different. I also love the mirrored tile backsplash that reflects the chandelier and the light from the window.

This solution is perfect if you have the time to cook but not clean before a dinner party. It’s also perfect for small spaces, pied-à-terres and especially for city dwellers who rarely cook. Either way, I call this inspiring and pure genius.

You've sold me on custom cabinetry. This is gorgeous! The expense is particularly worthwhile for city apartments since the benefits of such innovative use of space far outweighs the investment cost. Smaller scale has its advantages...

You are right. In fact the smaller the space, the better custom is. It allows you to use the space as best you can without overlooking style. This would work for your reno very well...
