For the Love of Linens…

I have always loved beautiful linens – old and new, so I'm always on the look-out at flea markets and antique shops for pretty ones. Table cloths, hand towels, napkins, pillow cases…these are the pieces that bring real personality and character to any space. My Mom has been collecting them for years and passing them on to my sister and I - these are some of my absolute favorite things...

Well, here’s a way to get a little of the past today in the present:

I went to the Architectural Digest Show last week and found Julia B. She creates customizable linens. Whether you want a sheet, a sham, pillow cases, or a full set, all of her 11 designs can be customized in any color. She also has a large array of vintage inspired monogram styles which she will embroider on her fabric, or on anything you already own.

BUT what I found most interesting was her ability to draw inspiration from and recreate the past…

By reproducing vintage patterns and monograms, she offers something unique; and you're not limited to just her designs, she can create or recreate anything you want. A dream come true - I LOVE this, as I have several pretty designs that I wish I had more of. Now I can...

Imagine the possibilities for yourself or even for creating customized gifts. I tend to like to give things that are personalized - embossers, stamps, or you-name-it monogrammed. I also always seem to want something a little different than your typical ready-made options.

Julia's creations open a whole new world of possibilities for me and now you. OK, the Arles starburst pattern is on my wish list already - it reminds me of my own starburst chandelier. In fact this pattern drew me to her booth in the first place.

I’m always happy to find people who do beautiful work and design interesting things. Julia B for me was a standout – creating something special and preserving history in a whole new way.

Her website is under construction, but go ahead and see for yourself…

Thanks for the link.

I purchased these cream colored monogramed linen coasters a while back that I absolutely love. Unfortunately, they didn't have my initial so I purchased a different initial. I love them because they are feminine and practical however it would be nice to have my own initial and now I can thanks to the link.

Great for wedding gifts - yes. Baby gifts too.

I have found vintage pieces also with the wrong initial - now I have a reason to snap them up...the perfect pattern for one of my own.
