The finishing touches are going into my apartment as we speak. Truthfully there’s nothing like a deadline to get it all done… It’s now down to a few of my trusty vendors, craftsman, and mostly to my contractor. He’s been MIA working on another job so now it’s crunch time.
Come and see for yourself on May 7th - my space will be part of the Junior League House Spring House Tour. If you’re around please drop in. I would love to meet you, and if you can’t make it, I promise before and afters from there on out.
My contractor recently asked if he will be hanging artwork the night before. Flashback to 11:00 PM before the last tour – he, my sister, a close friend and I were all running around like crazy. Hopefully not this time… My one piece of art is due to arrive the Wednesday before. There will also be no 11th hour furniture delivery or curtain installation– it’s all in now.
BTW this image was taken in an amateur photo shoot for the House Tour Program and promotion. The pressure was on my friend Gabrielle, her great camera, and me to get something good. We tried variations in lighting and every possible angle to get “a one shot wonder.” This view of the kitchen was the only part of the apartment that was done enough to show, and to make it even harder, shooting around mirrors make unfinished business and the camera girl hard to hide. The hard work paid off – we gout our one. Missing are the stools on both sides of the table that hadn't arrived yet, but they’re here now.
There’s a bit left to do before the big day: pretty up the entrance door with molding, install marble window sills, build radiator covers, install mirrors, and top it off with some decorative tile work. Decorating wise a few pillows are in the works and a floor lamp is being metal plated. Fingers crossed everything on this list gets checked off between now and then…
Anyway I’ll give details behind my kitchen in a future post, but for now here’s your first look. A lot went into planning this kitchen and I Love it. I hope you enjoy it here or in person on May 7th . For more information on the house tour go to: the NY Junior League website, click on Events and House Tour. http://www.nyjl.org

You never fail to impress. Of course, it's gorgeous. I'm going to try and make the tour this year. So hopefully I'll get a chance to see it in person!
That would be great!
Wow...so pretty! I can't wait to see the rest!
It is so gorgeous!! Having seen the "Before" (and wondering how you could have left your last beautifully renovated apt), this finished "After" is truly a wonder. You have a special talent for transforming space.
I think this should be on Elle Decor magazine June cover, or May if they get a hurry on. I have not seen a more beautiful and thought out kitchen. Kelly thank you for all your sharing and inspiration.
