Glass Ceilings…

I love these inspirational glass ceilings, make believe for most of us here.

I probably love them even more being a city dweller as they’re sooo rare. Most people couldn’t work one in if they tried, no way no how. You have to be on the top of the building or have a terrace or garden space - another rare luxury here, but a girl can dream…

I see them quite a bit in SOHO. Many of the lofty store fronts have them in the back, a reason to linger longer than I normally would. Brownstones too. I saw one in an artist space not too long ago that ran the length of a 50 foot room, but you could only enter it through the building’s basement. As advertised living there was not an option. Well how about just going there everyday then?

Imagine a snowy day like today in one of these rooms – just magical…

Sky light has a magical and transformative effect on a space. Here's a link to an apartment that has partial glass ceiling that extends from the living room to the bathroom.

One of my neighbors has a bathroom with a glass ceiling--it's ethereal.

Maybe you just have to become a full time artist, to live in that artist in residence loft (with the 50 foot room)....could be worth it, it was pretty divine.
