A friend passed along a link to a real estate site in Paris. She said I would love it. Twist my arm, I took a look….
Well one click led to another and I landed on Rive Gauche Rehab – a blog covering the renovations of amazing Paris apartments. Wow this talented team specializes in renovating Left Bank Parisian apartments in a way that to me is oh so Paris in my imagination.

If I had any spare change, I would be happy to call any one of them my home. No messy renovation to live through - just move in, decorate, and live happily every after…
They focus on the details – bringing them back and putting them in as if they never left. And I’m not sure how they do it, but they even manage to take pretty before shots as well.
Truly I’m in heaven with this one, so just couldn’t keep it to myself…

And if you’re beyond just daydreaming and searching for the perfect Paris apartment, check out the real estate side of the business. I promise, you won’t be disappointed….

I had never heard of them before, and the renovation blog is definitely bookmarked. As with most apartment flipping companies geared towards expat investors, their prices are insane and IMHO WAY above market even taking into account the renovation costs (ex: the Bourgogne one is 18k/m2 for an apartment with no view, while that street averages 11k/m2).
ReplyDeleteStill nice eye candy though!
I really love seeing good renovations that preserve the historical character and modernize at the same time. I feel that attention to detail is so rare today. I have no idea about pricing of apartments or the costs of renovations there, but I do know the pricing in NYC vs. suburbia is crazy - not to mention the added stress of the city and the COOP. I love that they decided to share the process and the end product - so classic and pretty. That's a treat for me.
ReplyDeleteOh, there's no denying the apartment looks great. I would love to see before and after floorplans to see how many walls they had to knock down to open up the spaces, since the traditional 19th century floor plans have many small rooms, no closets, separate kitchen. In Paris gut renovation costs range from 700 - 1500/m2 all depending on the materials, 1500/m2 would be ultra high end.
ReplyDeleteAs far as the involvement of the coop board, in Paris the "syndic" is traditionally very handsoff compared to NYC coops and you only need to involve them under certain circumstances, like if you want to add an extra toilet, if you have to knock down a load-bearing wall, or if you are on the top floor and want to buy/build in the attic space above you (we tried to buy a top floor apartment and would have had this option).
Kelly, You always give us the best pictures and ways to see pretty! Thanks for sharing!!
