Being A Guest – A Lesson Learned

Staying anywhere new is always a learning experience.

One of my renovation sublets had a brand new mirrored medicine cabinet. I enjoyed it so much, it made me rethink my future bathroom designs. I prefer the standard recessed cabinet variety, but this small swivel is interesting too. How nice would a small one be in the shower…

In my book there are 3 requirements in every bathroom – a built a linen closet, a TV, and a fantastic mirror. Since the mirror is the crown jewel of every bathroom, I never considered any alternative - a medicine cabinet.

During my stay I put my make-up in the cabinet and loved the organized feeling. Sooooo I’m updating my must-have list for the next bathroom renovation from 3 to 4.

This time around I’ve designed my bathroom to include a set of mirrored drawers in my linen closet next to the sink. Inspired by my medicine cabinet experience, this will be great too. A very happy lesson learned…

Can't wait to see the mirrored drawers or the rest of the renovation. I absolutely love mirrors. I got an amazing antique Louis XV gilded mirror last year and love it. I would love to have a large Venetian mirror for the bathroom. That being said, storage is always nice.

I am enjoying this renovation already. It's good to hear your perspective on a lot of different topics.

Glad you are moved in. Zero amenities are no fun but I know the place wil be spectacular!

Kelly-I came across this website called hooklady.com that sells vintage hooks and shelf brackets. Do you use any any hooks or vintage finds in any of your renovations? I have seen the pictures of your renovations posted on your website and was just curious since you use a lot of vintage items.

Thanks Dream Mom for the tip on hooks. I am ALWAYS on the look for great hardware. I have boxes full.

Thank you. I will post before pictures of the space probably when I post the afters because the befores are not very impressive. I also think sometimes it's hard to know what you are looking at in the befores, until you see the afters. Trust me the befores are pretty ugly... I also need to get a better camera as the ones I take myself never do the space justice, whereas the right equipment does wonders. I need a wide angle lens as well as something that does close-ups.
